The parish church of Noss Mayo was given to the village by Edward Charles Baring (1st. Lord Revelstoke) in the 1880’s. It replaces the former parish church which still exists as a maintained ruin on the coast, two miles away.
The ‘new’ church is a particularly fine example of Victorian church building, designed by architect J. P.St.Aubyn, at the time when the Arts and Crafts Movement was at its peak. The interior is notable for its stencil painted walls, oak carvings and stained glass.
In 2005 the Noss Mayo Church Heritage Trust was established as a registered charity to preserve and improve the fabric of this special building.
The church overlooks a tidal creek to the north and there are spectacular views from the tower, which contains eight bells and a four-faced clock.
The Church is open every day and visitors have the choice of two excellent village pubs in which to find refreshment.
